Do not faff
Have fun, go exploring, be close to nature, learn something, have an adventure, challenge yourself, develop a sense of self worth, get fit and healthy; there are so many reasons to pursue a Mountain Training qualification or skills course.

If you've been thinking about registering for one of our qualification schemes but not done it yet, now’s the time to register because registration fees are changing from 1st January, 2016.

Registration fees for our qualification schemes are increasing by 8% - the real increase is £3, £4 or £5 depending on the scheme – see below for the specifics. The current rate of inflation would have meant a much bigger increase (nearly £5 instead of £3 etc.) so next year’s fee is still a bargain.

The increases do not affect registration for the Hill & Mountain Skills scheme, which will be £10 instead of £17 for under 18s from 1st January.

What do you get for your one off registration fee?

  • Access to training and assessment courses for schemes that are recognised across the UK and Ireland. We have a rigorous selection process of our course providers who are also regularly quality assured by our technical officers.
  • Support from the staff at Mountain Training throughout the scheme.
  • A full record of your training and assessment history on our industry leading candidate management system.
  • Access to DLOG – our online digital logbook used to record your experience - which is constantly evolving based on your use.
  • Occasional emails from us to keep you up to date.
  • A chance to join the Mountain Training Association - a fantastic support network of candidates. (Registering for the Hill & Mountain Skills does not enable you to join the Mountain Training Association.)
  • A fancy certificate once you have completed the scheme.
