BMC Youth climbing series belay volunteers
To add an extra element of safety to the Youth Climbing Series (YCS) the BMC would like an experienced sport climber and instructor to offer a 15 minute competition belay workshop to the lead climbing belayers at each of the YCS competitions, preferably someone who lives within an hour of the venue.
As well as delivering the workshop the instructor would oversee the first 2 hours of the competition helping to make sure the volunteers who are belaying on the lead routes are comfortable and offering additional advice if necessary.
