Where did you hear about the Hill & Mountain Skills Scheme?
I was on the hunt for a course that would give some good foundation skills in navigation, always considered kicking off some mountain training courses, did a bit of a search on the Mountain Training website and voila! Perfect blend between a simple introduction but with enough focus on core skills.
Why did you choose to do it with Amphibia?
Amphibia was the closest provider to me in Surrey.
Why did you want to do a Hill Skills course?
I was really looking for an entry level course that had a good dose of navigation and gave me some core skills to improve my hill walking
What was good about the course?
The instructor was excellent, and spent time listening and responding to questions as well as having some good chat on him! It was very interactive but also followed a good syllabus that covered all the basic skills needed to get more from hill walking.
What are your walking plans for the future?
Very keen on progressing to
Mountain Leader, eventually! But right now, planning some further walks in the Surrey hills as well as a potential trip to the Lakes.

Mountain Skills course for people with some hill walking experience who are looking to transfer their experience to a more mountainous environment.
