Your Stories: Morna Middleton
Every Sunday we're featuring someone with a Mountain Training story to tell.
This week: Morna Middleton
So, I had a spare week on my hands back in 2003 and opted to go on a multi activity holiday to the Picos mountains in Northern Spain. Something to put me out of my comfort zone! One day we tried climbing! That was IT!
I realised I had a small local wall less than 500m from my house at home, so joined upon my return! Climbing took over my life. I'm just annoyed I didn't discover it when I lived in Argyllshire in Scotland when I had local crags! The Berkshire area is somewhat lacking!
I embarked on the qualification route some years ago, volunteering and working/employed in various settings, before a clear niche and particular skills prompted me to set up my own coaching and
instructing business in 2012. I am now embarking on the Development Coach qualification, too.
I love climbing outside in the Wye, Dorset or Peak areas. With a holiday to Siurana booked for March 2014. At the 'ripe old age' of **, I enjoy competing in female veteran categories at boulder or lead competitions. I can be found either climbing, or teaching climbing! Simple! :o)
