Challenge Events Good Practice

Spring marks the beginning of the main season for 'Challenge Events' and there are many to choose from: the National Three Peaks, the Yorkshire Three Peaks, the Welsh 3000s etc. As stakeholders in the preservation of our natural landscape, anyone involved in running these events has a responsibility to do so in a way that encourages a love for walking without destroying the environment they want people to enjoy.

This is an opinion which most walking leaders share and thanks to a variety of sources, including the Lake District National Park Authority, the Institute of Fundraising, the Highland Council and Snowdonia National Park Authority there is now plenty of guidance on running challenge events responsibly in the UK.
