Training Officer - Mountaineering Ireland

Mountaineering Ireland is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and highly motivated individual to fill the role of Training Officer. The Training Officer's primary role is to deliver upon the training objectives of Mountaineering Ireland.

Main Purpose of the Post

• The Training Officer will implement Mountaineering Ireland’s Training objectives by:
• Support fully and advise Mountaineering Ireland’s training sub-committee, Bord Oiliúint Sléibhe (Irish Mountain Training Board);
• Working with Mountaineering Ireland clubs to assist them with their training needs and supporting Club Training Officers;
• Promoting participation in personal skills and leadership training for hillwalking and climbing;
• Disseminate information on safe practice and offer advice on technical issues;
• Working closely with Mountain Training Northern Ireland and Mountain Training UK;
• Working closely with mountain training providers.
